Adventure

on tap

Adventure comes in many forms, so whether it's game drives exploring the insanely beautiful Khwai region of the Okavango Delta; a mokoro ride through the Mbudi Channel; walking in the vast landscapes of the Kalahari with the San Bushmen or just sitting and taking in the incredible sights and sounds of wild Africa, you know we've got you covered.

Feline Fields Vintage Camp activities

A Feline Fields safari can be filled with as much, or as little as you like. You set the pace and choose whether to get out and explore or sit back and relax. We always recommend a bit of both! From guided walking safaris to soaring above the Okavango Delta in a helicopter, exploring the legendary wilderness around the Khwai River in a myriad ways is the essence of the safari adventure of a lifetime...

Exclusive game drives

Early morning and afternoon/evening game drives are offered every day at Feline Fields Vintage Camp and give you the opportunity to explore the region around the camp and along the Khwai River, one of the most prolific wildlife regions in Botswana. This area is renowned for its high concentrations of predators like lion and leopard, huge herds of

elephant and buffalo.

Helicopter safari

Taking to the skies over the Okavango Delta in a helicopter gives you a fresh appreciation of the magnitude of this phenomenal African wilderness. Flying low enough to spot game and take photographs from the air, these flights also give you the opportunity to see

areas that are otherwise completely inaccessible.

Guided walking safaris

Exploring on foot gives you the chance to properly immerse yourself in the wilderness, connecting you directly to the planet beneath your feet and the environment around you. Our guided walks are all about appreciating the smaller things so often overlooked on game drives - the plants and animals that otherwise go unnoticed. You learn as you go, and are often treated to sightings of iconic wildlife species along the way.

Mokoro safaris

Gliding through the perennial channels of the Okavango Delta in a mokoro - a traditional "dug-out" canoe - has to be one of the highlights of a visit to Feline Fields Vintage Camp. Water levels are consistent all year round and not dependent on the annual inundation, this is a wonderful way to see hippos, elephants and buffalos and phenomenal bird life.

Boat-based safaris

We offer boat-based activities when the water levels allow, cruising the deeper waters of the Khwai River and its channels and lagoons, stopping on islands for refreshments and birding/fishing as we go.

Wooden hot tub and spa treatments

The ultimate way to spend a morning or afternoon is relaxing in our spa tent, having soothing massages and soaking in our authentic wooden hot tub overlooking the river, watching wild Africa pass by!

Birding

The area around Feline Fields Vintage Camp is renowned for its birding with more than 450 species recorded. From large raptors like the martial eagle, African fish eagle and Pel's fishing owl; waders like the saddle-bill stork and African jacana, and a rich variety of

kingfishers and colourful bee-eaters, be sure to bring your binoculars with you!

Fishing

Fishing the Khwai River and its channels and lagoons is a wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon. You can expect to catch bream, barbel and even tiger fish, all on a catch and release basis. We have rods and fishing tackle available, and our guides are on hand to show you the ropes!

Feline Fields Lodge activities

From meeting the San Bushmen to spending a night under a million stars, Feline Fields Lodge is all about creating magical moments for you and your loved ones by providing you with tailor-made activities that create lifetime memories.

Game drives

We offer morning and afternoon/evening drives in the Kalahari allowing you to explore the impressive landscapes and unique environments that make this desert region so

special. While not a prime game viewing area, you may nonetheless see elephants and other desert-adapted species like gemsbok, as well as amazing birdlife including ostriches and secretary birds.

Walking

Join the San Bushmen for a guided walk through the Kalahari, learning about their

traditional way of life and the plants and animals that sustain them. You will find out about the medicinal qualities of the endemic flora and how to find water and store it, keeping it fresh for weeks, as well as how to make fire and find food.

Horse riding

The Kalahari is perfect for horse riding, with its vast, largely flat landscape making it

exciting to explore from the saddle. Enjoy guided trails through this unique environment and stop for a bush breakfast or lunch along the way. Most riding takes place in the early morning to avoid the heat of the day.

Meet the San

Visit our local village and learn more about the San Bushmen and their community,

discovering how they live in close harmony with nature, respecting its power and giving thanks for the food and shelter it provides. You can also witness a bona-fide trance dance during which the San contact the spirits of their ancestors and become one with the wilderness around them.

Sleepout

Experience the magic of a billion-star sleepout in the Kalahari, beneath the vaulted African night sky and the shimmering Milky Way. We set up the perfect fly camp not too far from the lodge where you will sleep in comfort on beautiful beds in luxurious

mosquito net tents, allowing you to completely immerse yourself in the magic of wild Africa.

Wellness

Enjoy massages and rituals that connect you with the Kalahari and its energies in our wellness sanctuary, leaving you refreshed and rejuvenated. We use Africology essential oils, all made ethically and sustainably from African plants that have been growing in our lands for countless millennia.

Sand bikes

Each of our suites has its own sand bikes for your use during your stay. Feel free to cycle at will in and around the lodge or go out into the Kalahari with one of our guides and

explore further afield.

Tennis

Feline Fields Lodge has its own tennis court giving guests the opportunity to play a set or two in the magical environment of the Kalahari! Best played in the cool morning hours or late afternoons with sundowners on tap, this is a great way to have some fun during your stay! Racquets and balls are provided.

Golf

We have our own mini driving range here at Feline Fields Lodge so guests can practice their swing in the middle of the bush. We have clubs and balls for your use during your stay.

Swimming

Our 25m lap pool allows for swimming as well as cooling off. It's a great way to exercise and beat the heat. You don't have to be an Olympic swimmer to enjoy doing lengths, so feel free to take as much time as you need to get your cardio session sorted!

Open gym

Work out in our bush gym that's open on all sides to the surrounding wilderness. With an excellent selection of exercise equipment to choose from including a home trainer,

elliptical cross trainer, weights and yoga balls.

Define your perfect adventure.
